Field Service Technician / Customer service

Responsible for equipment installations, customer training, service sales, technical support on-site to customers.  This position requires exceptional troubleshooting and customer service skills in the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, and PLC Controls. (Siemens and Allen Bradley)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to customers on-site for service and repair of CSW can lid roll un-wrappers/loaders, depalletizing and other packaging equipment.

  • Lead and/or participate in installation of machinery at customer sites.

  • Provide training on operation and maintenance to the end-users of EDGME Inc. equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair complex field service issues; take ownership for solutions and perform customer service for packaging equipment.

  • Travel extensively in North America and as needed internationally in order to support customer plant operations.

 

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical disciplines, installation procedures, and machinery troubleshooting.

  • Ability to read, interpret and follow complex mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, diagrams, engineering drawings, and any other written instructions or procedures as necessary for installation of machinery.

  • Strong understanding of PLC based machinery controls; troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills, analytical problem solving, decisiveness, and planning is required. Good communication skills and interaction with all levels of personnel in customer facilities.

  • This position requires extensive travel to customer sites both domestically and internationally.

  • Service and machine sales as required.

  • Must have the ability to read and understand electrical-electronic schematic diagrams.

  • Guest service mentality; has a genuine desire to serve the customer.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter who works independently and is self-motivated.

  • Exhibits creativity and tenacity to troubleshoot and repair all types of electronic and industrial packaging machinery.

  • Anticipates and solve problems in a calm and methodical manner.

  • Maintains a tactful, professional demeanor when dealing with difficult situations.

  • Manages multiple projects and timelines with a sense of urgency.

  • Strong organizational, analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Strong computer and ACAD skills required.

  • Class facilitation and presentation skills required.

  • Four-year degree preferred.

  • Must possess applicable hand tools.
